For animals, not humans (easy to open)
This gate looks pretty nice and I appreciate how tall it is. Given how easy it is to open, it’s certainly designed for animals more than it is little people, so I wouldn’t recommend this as a child safety gate. The latching mechanism works…most of the time, which isn’t as good as you’d expect, but it remains functional. Overall – not a bad gate if you specifically need a tall narrow one for dogs.

Looks like pictures, easy installment, appears to be good quality.My 50 lb pit mix was easily able to knock it down. Would work great for a smaller dog breed.

Not Toddler-Proof
My two year old quadruplets can open this gate without any help. This gate is waayyy too easy for little kids to open.

Door mechanism hit or miss. Maybe mines defective ?
Door mechanism on ours is jamming right from the start. Had to loosen the gate for it to even open at all. Hate that it has to be loose for the door to work at all, if my gate is tight and secure so it doesn’t wobble the door doesn’t work. It’s as if the little button on the lock does not retract correctly. Even loosened it does not work half the time and is so difficult to get open even when following the pull and lift directions then it makes the gate wobble more when you have to force it to open since it has to be loose to even work. Worked too hard to put this gate up and need to keep my toddler out of the kitchen, am just going to deal with it. I think I will tighten it so it doesn’t wobble and just not use the door at all. Just kind of annoyed it seems we got a defective door mechanism after paying so much and I will not be taking it down and reboxing this up after waiting a week for it to arrive and all of the trouble unboxing and putting it up.
