Surprising quality – educational too!!
I babysit a couple of young toddlers and my 4 year old offered to teach them how to “do puzzle”. If she was willing, it’d keep all the kids in one place and entertained so I ordered this as an experiment without thinking too much about whether or not it would hold up to a toddlers rough treatment. It did. The cardboard is thick enough and the pieces big enough for small hands and the thickness has kept the individual pieces looking pretty much like new. Honestly, I don’t know who is learning more – the toddlers I got it to entertain or my daughter. She’s starting to read and so she teaches the kids the letters and explains how the name of the animal in the picture starts with that letter. Most of the pictures are easy enough for her to identify without the printed word next to the picture but the printed name of the animal on the piece helps. For instance, she got them all right until she got to the iguana and although she couldn’t sound out the word past I-G…she then realized it wasn’t a frog. My point is that the very young ones are learning letters and some basic animals and my older one is getting (fun) practice sounding out words to make sure she’s identifying the picture correctly. There’s a lot to like and lots of skills being learned – more than I would have thought possible from a puzzle.

Reinforces the alphabet
This is a nice quality puzzle, with thick pieces and colorful crisp graphics. I think it’s appropriate for kids who are learning the alphabet. My 5 yo is still learning the alphabet and he struggled with this puzzle. His 7 yo sister is a reader and she completed the puzzle in a snap.

Fun Floor Puzzle
The pieces are big enough and thick enough for young hands to hold. They are very colorful. There are words on the sides of the pieces. Some of the animals will be familiar to children like a butterfly or cat. Other animals they might not recognize would be a jackal, quail, and a xeme. Skills that can be exercised are hand-eye coordination, problem solving,observation ability and grasping ability. It is recommended for ages 3 and up.

Really nice floor puzzle. The pieces are thick which is great for littles. My little guy likes to tear the puzzle apart just as much if not more than he likes putting it together and these have not bent even with his roughness!
