See through end a big plus
Update 3/8/2013I am very pleased with this purchase. I changed my rating from 4 stars to 5. The part I like best is the see through end. My baby sleeps in it most of the time now.————————————————–Positives:+ we were able to put it together and all the pieces were included – nothing missing+ baby likes the mirror although she bumps her head on it trying to play with the baby in the mirror+ I *think* the mattress is okay after reading about it on the Foundations website- I could not find anything more “green”+ The latch system is easy to open and shut, however is a little squeaky+It appears easy to clean+ I don’t see anyway that she could climb out of it.+ although it is called compact, it is large enough for my baby for the next 2 years at least.+the mattress was included+wiling to ship to Alaska+the see through end is really effective and helpfulDisappointments:- The safe reach still does not go down low enough for my short husband with a bad back. However I could not find anything else on the market that was better-the information provided on the amazon page is really insufficient and does not tell you enough. Go to the Foundations website for more info- My baby constantly bumps her head on all parts of this and this is a fault of *all cribs* as far as I can tell. (She sits up so bumpers are not advised bc she can use them to climb out.) For this reason, she still mostly sleeps with us on a mattress on the floor next to the crib and the crib is used for short naps.-I cannot find anything yet that fits it well, and I have lost money on buying things I thought would fit. It is not a standard size mattress by any means. That might have been obvious to others since it has the word “compact” in the title but I am new to parenthood. My priority in finding a crib was something that we didn’t have to reach over so far to put the baby in.-If anyone can point me to sheets, etc that fit this mattress I would appreciate it.

Very sturdy, good cutomer service from manufacturer
We purchased 2 Foundations Next Gen Serenity SafeReach Wood Compact Cribs for our church nursery. We check out their sturdiness prior to ordering by visiting a day care that had them. The beds were 6 years old and still in good shape and sturdy. We figured if they could hold up that long at a day care they would last a long time being used twice a week at church. We weren’t disappointed. They are very sturdy and the matresses are very good. I like the fact that the wheels lock so older toddlers can’t move them around. We accidentally damaged one of the clearview ends during assembly by dropping a heavy object directly on the clear panel (keep the clearview panel protected during assembly with a piece of cardboard). The manufacturer was able to be contacted and they quickly sent us a new headboard for the crib at an extremely low price – $17 and that included shipping. It is nice to know we will have customer support from the manufacturer in the future. If you buy an evacuation frame kit be sure it is specifically for the NEXT GEN crib not the old model Foundation Serenity SafeReach crib because the old model frame kit holes do not line up with the new model crib.

Great Addition to Any Infant Classroom
I purchased these beds to stay in compliance with state childcare center regulations. These beds are approved by licensing and are a great addition to our infant classroom!

Best option for saving your back plus safe rails for baby!
Wish more folks knew about this design! This works great in our home. Pricey for a crib but worth it for the lack of sore back / shoulders / armpits and/or lost sleep from laying a sleeping baby down without waking them.We assembled it without the wheels since we don’t move it often.
