    Smells
I wanted to like this vitamin but I’ve taken them two days in a row and vomited shortly after. I can’t bear the smell of the vitamins even before the bottle gets opened. I’m disappointed as I spent money on these vitamins and can’t even finish them.Update: I’m adjusting my rating for the excellent customer service and quick response. I am willing to try different products from their line when I am no longer pregnant.5/26/25 postpartum update: I decided to give the prenatal vitamin another chance because I really like the ingredients and that this brand does 3rd party testing. I’m able to better tolerate the smell. I do notice my milk supply increases when I take the vitamin and my milk is lower in supply when I forget to take it, not sure if it’s a coincidence or if it actually helps boost supply. I am happy with the vitamin and will continue to use Thorne!

    Comprehensive and Trusted Prenatal Supplement
I’ve been using the THORNE Basic Prenatal while preparing for pregnancy and throughout early pregnancy, and I’m very impressed with its quality. It includes a well-researched form of folate, which is crucial for fetal development, along with 18 essential vitamins and minerals plus choline. I appreciate how this supplement supports my overall health as well as my baby’s development. The capsules are easy to take, and I have not experienced any side effects. This product gives me confidence in my prenatal nutrition and is definitely worth the investment for pregnant and nursing women. Highly recommended!

    Clean quality 3rd party tested
These were 3rd party tested and had great clean results. I have been reading into ingredients and learning all of the stuff about the ingredients the body needs and it has the good forms of all ingredients. Example: Folic acid is actually man made and is in most of the prenatals, but Thorne has the natural form our bodies actually absorb, which is 5MTHF. I have the MTHFR gene mutation so I need the 5MTHF in order to absorb it in the first place. This product has been amazing compared to all the other brands I’ve tried. Even higher rated brands.I have 3 kids and I have tried all different kinds of prenatals. These Thorne ones are by far the best ones I have had. My daughter is 9 months and I still take them because they make me feel great! I take 2 instead of 3 because I also take other vitamins on top of it. But it is so worth the price.

Decent Product – Not For Everyone
Was taking this for a couple months before conceiving and then during the pregnancy before it was lost. I do think it is a good quality prenatal that gave me extra energy which was very much appreciated, but I did some more research and decided to go with a different option that fit my needs better- you can find that information below.I did notice some stomach upset at the beginning, but it went away after a few days. The main reason I ended up getting off of it, was due to wicked constipation. Could this have been due to the pregnancy itself? Possibly. I stopped taking this around the time I miscarried and switched to another option out there. The main reason I give it so many stars was because of the energy it gave me, but that’s ultimately why I decided to switch because there is conflicting information on the internet regarding the high dose of vitamin B in here. I’ll just stress that everyone needs to do their own research and it’s not the best choice for everyone.

    Thorne is great!
Love this prenatal!!Thorne products have been at the forefront of my supplement journey for awhile now, so when it came to prenatal I went with Thorne.I am not pregnant, but simply am interested in becoming pregnant in the near future, so I’m jump starting my body with the nutrients it needs. Some of the Thorne products smell horrendous. I actually had to stop taking the basic nutrients daily multivitamin from them because the smell made me nauseous and the pills gave me headaches. These prenatals do not do that to me!They do have a smell (it’s not pleasant but it’s not unbearable). The pills are on the larger side. And you do have to take 3 a day.You can break up when you take them but I always take them with my other pills at the same time after eating a large meal.I’ve never had an issue!

    Great formula
I have been taking the THORNE prenatal for several months and have loved it! I actually switched from another prenatal to this one while 6 months postpartum and I noticed I had more energy within a few weeks of consistently taking them. I appreciate the effectiveness and would highly recommend.

4/5 Great quality, but the smell is hard to handle!
I’ve been taking Thorne Basic Prenatal for a while now, and I can definitely say the quality is excellent. It has everything I need during pregnancy — especially the active forms of folate, iron, and B vitamins. I trust the brand and feel confident that I’m getting clean, effective ingredients. However, I have to mention the smell. The pills have a very strong odor — almost like penicillin or antibiotics. At first, I thought something was wrong with my bottle, but after some research, I found out it’s totally normal. It’s caused by the high levels of B vitamins (especially B1 and B2), folate, and iron — all of which have naturally strong smells. Also, I noticed that my urine becomes bright yellow and smells like the vitamins, especially in the first half of the day. Again, this is a normal effect of riboflavin (vitamin B2) being excreted, but it can be surprising if you’re not expecting it.If you’re sensitive to smells like me, I recommend:• Taking the vitamins with food• Drinking extra water• Being mentally prepared for the odor 😅I’m still finishing the bottle because the formula is solid and well-balanced, but I wish they could find a way to improve the smell. That’s the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5.

The product is fine but don’t bother ordering from iherb. They will cancel your order and only inform you of this 4-5 days later. It’s better to order from another vendor.

I tried it for 3 days and threw it the full pack in the bin after feeling sick every day once taking it. The smell and taste came back up for hours
