It really works like magic and saved our sanity!
So our 2 and a half month old baby was having a really hard time transitioning from a swaddle and she had become a swaddle escape artist. No swaddle could keep her contained and most of them she could break out of in just a few minutes. We had one brand of swaddle that would hold her for a couple of hours at most before she would finally muscle her way out of during the night and wake herself up by touching her head and face and setting off her startle reflex repeatedly. We tried a few other brands “transitional” swaddles but they made things even worse because they keep the baby’s arms up next to their head where she would start touching or rubbing her head and setting off her startle reflex. After a few nights of trying those other brand transitional swaddles we were all going crazy due to sleep deprivation. After seeing a video of this sleep suit on social media we decided to give it a try and it worked! The big difference here is that the suit doesn’t allow the baby to easily reach up and touch their head while sleeping. The thickness and stiffness of the sleeves naturally keeps their arms comfortably down and away from their heads. The very first time we put her in this and put her to bed and she stayed asleep for almost 6 hours straight which is a massive improvement! Now she sleeps like a rock almost every night.I will admit the sizing is a little weird. Our daughter is about 35th percentile in size for her age. The instructions say a proper fit means both hands and feet are visible. Her arms fit just fine in the sleeves and she could not pull them back though but her feet and legs just weren’t long enough to fit into the leg portion of the swaddle and if we were to keep waiting for her to grow big enough then it would probably be another 2 months before her legs were long enough and our sanity wasn’t going to make it that long. So for now she keeps her legs up inside the body portion of the swaddle so it’s kind of like a sleep sack for now until she grows into it more which means we will just get more mileage out this in the long run. The material is thick but remember babies lose most of their heat through their heads and if you put them in a sleeveless/legless onesie then they will stay at a comfortable temperature all night and we have checked on her multiple times during the night or when she naps to see if she was getting hot and she never did.

    MAGIC ✨️✨️
AMAZING PRODUCT! I could not recommend this product enough. We got it because our 3 month old has a really strong moro reflex in her legs – besides reacting when we place her in the bassinet, she will literally wake herself up nonstop of whale-tailing her legs all night. This sleepsuit helped to dampen some of that movement (not restrict it, which is fantastic) and helped her go from sleeping a 5 hr stretch to an 8 hr stretch instantly. It has also been a game changer for us as we begin light sleep training. She is loving it and we transitioned from the Halo swaddle to this cold turkey and had no issues. She uses it during bedtime & all her naps (minus any contact naps). We love it!!

    Better nights sleep
We LOVE this sleep suit. Once my baby started rolling the Merlin Sleepsuit was a game changer. It kept him safely on his back for time to sleep. It’s super soft and comfortable so he slept better. It also fits a range of sizes as long as you order true to size. And my personal favorite it’s machine wash and dryer safe so long as you put it on delicates. It’s one of my favorite baby products I even went back and ordered another

for parents of a 5+ month old
This is literally the first review I’ve ever left on an Amazon purchase but I thought it was necessary because I was looking for a review like this when I was shopping and it was hard to find.My daughter just turned five months old and has been swaddled since she was six weeks old (& the first night I ever swaddled her was the first time she ever slept through the night & has been sleeping the night ever since) I was terrified of the idea of having to transition out of swaddling but knew the day would come. When she turned four months old she started getting the strength to bring her arms up through the halo sleep sack into her face waking herself up/scratching herself/putting her hands in her mouth which made her start babbling away at wee hours of the night. I decided to try swaddling with one arm out to see how it would go and occasionally it would work but most of the time she would wake up in less than an hour from touching her face with the free hand. So I continued to wrap her in the halo sleep sack, but just did it tighter than ever..& it kept working..till it didnt. She would fall asleep great but would move her arms up after an hour or so & would get frustrated trying to free her arms (even started arching her back which mad her roll to her side..I knew it was getting too dangerous to keep it up.I purchased things like the “love to dream sleep sack”, the “woombie”, & the “nested bean zen sack.” (all of which i heard great things about)..but they didnt work for her.The love to dream sleep sack allowed her to have her hands up which she had never slept like before so she was flapping like crazy trying to escape it. The woombie was good for a couple nights but she woke up to the fact that she could bring her hands up to her chest freely but then not extend her arms so she was constantly crying out of frustration. The nested bean zen sack was supposed to mimic “touch” by having a weight on the chest but the weight is light as a feather so it was like she wasnt in a sack at all. I didnt know what to do.I decided to search the web ONE MORE TIME & came across this “magic suit” ..yea ok I bet it wont work for her..but I bought it & decided to try it out. When it came in the mail yesterday I thought it looked rediculous…but that’s what all the other reviews had said..and even though it looked ridiculous..it still somehow did the trick. So when it was time for her nap I gave it a shot. IT WORKED! She slept and hour & 1/2..which she never does for a nap! (she’ll only sleep that long being held or on my husbands chest!)* I also feel that it’s important to mention that prior to trying this out we would always wrap her up in the halo sleep sack first and then rock her to sleep in our arms or on our knees on the Boppy pillow- and she would always already be asleep before I transferred her to the crib.So I knew that that with this suit I had to kill two birds with one stone: not only transition her out of the swaddle, but also have her fall sleep on her own in the crib.I waited until she was already tired, even fussing a bit..put her in the suit while it was lying in the crib, and walked away. She started crying ( naturally because this was the first time she was ever awake in her crib without a swaddle) I reassured her after 2 minutes of crying & 2 minutes later..she was asleep! On her own! Without a swaddle! Arms free to move about!I thought maybe it was just a fluke and it was just because she was so tired..so I knew the real test would be at night. Here I am at 7am writing this review..while shes still ASLEEP! We put her to bed at 9pm (going to try earlier tonight) & shes still out. She usually wakes up at 6 or 6:30.I’ll be honest I did have to go in her room and put her pacifier back in her mouth around 5 AM because she was moaning in her sleep, but I think she was just having a bad dream, I don’t think it has anything to do with the suit. I also watched her several times on the monitor throughout the late-night hours bring her hands to her face to rub her eyes..but her arms always settle back down slowly and she fell back asleep. That would not have been possible with traditional swaddles or with having her arms completely free with armless sleep sacks.I would say give it a try even if you’re skeptical that your baby is already older and even if you tried other things and they have failed…ESPECIALLY if that’s the case, try this suit out !

    Magic Indeed!
My childhood best friend gifted my grandson with his first magic sleepsuits. For him, they have been quite magical. He instantly relaxes and gets comfortable for sleep as soon as he’s zipped up!

Dont really write reviews but i thought this maybe will be helpful for other sleep deprived parents. I was very sceptical when i ordered this suit. My daughter is a fussy one and if she is not comfy she will not sleep. Period. Scream the house down and not sleep. She is 6 months and i was still swaddling her. I bought this product with the frame of mind that will be added to the pile of wasted money. How wrong was i?! She loves it. Doesn’t quite sleep through the night but wakes up twice and then straight back to sleep. Worth a try peeps. If you are struggling to transition from swaddling try this. You may be pleasantly surprised.

I wouldn’t say this is a magic suit, it definitely did not meet expectations for all. Unfortunately it did not work for my little one. I was desperate to try anything, and too expensive. They should offer money back guarantee if doesn’t work. Just have to add it to the list of waste of money gone down the drain 🙁

Let me start by saying I have tried all swaddles out for a better night sleep! I really wanted this one to work but it’s far too small and so hard to get on and off- and my baby isn’t too big- recommended size/ weight. Quite disappointed in this product- if it’s such a great seller where is the larger version (zip all the way through would be a bonus too)

I’ve been blessed with a baby who always slept 8 hrs every night swaddled. Once he hit 3 months old, he started to roll on his side and would move all around the bassinet. We tried the arm out sleep sack but since he could move, his Moro reflex would wake him up constantly in the night and I went from a baby who slept 8 hrs to a baby who woke me up crying every 2 hours or less!! My baby was cranky and I was exhausted. A friend recommended the Merlin suit as a transition from the swaddle. At first I didn’t think it would work. He screamed bloody murder when we put him in it and I immediately was like Nope! That’s not going to work and took it off.I decided I would try it again for a couple naps in the day so that he would get use to it better. I also had a thought that the bassinet may feel too crammed because his arms could not lay out straight like the suit allows. We tried the suit again but this time in his crib so he had a lot of space. He was able to still self soothe in the suit and put himself to sleep no problem. He slept 9 hours straight and we all woke up happy! He was still in the same position on his back when he woke up too. It was such a relief. I do find it quite warm so I only dressed him in a diaper underneath and left his hands and feet exposed for air flow. He seemed comfortable! It was a great transition to get him use to his arms out. Really hoping it continues to work for us and eventually get him comfortable in a sleep sack.
