Must for postpartum recovery
Calm and soothing
Customer Review –
Astringent cooling effect. Thin, extra long liners. Lightly damp. Best for mild symptoms.
This is a review for PurComfy Perineal Cooling Pad Liners, Witch Hazel Long Pad Liners for Postpartum Care, Postpartum Essentials for Pain Relief After Birth – 24 CountThese are postpartum liners. They’re basically lightweight and thin lengths of soft material—similar in feel to a wet wipe, to lay over your pad. They’re damp with witch hazel which will provide a cooling sensation, can help ease discomfort and swelling and even help promote healing. The package you receive is boxed, small and resealable. It comes stamped with an expiration date and lot number. The exterior package is very difficult to read as the text is small, light colored cream printed on cardboard but it says the liners are designed in the US and “made responsibly in China”. It says the liners are made without harsh chemicals, dye or fragrances. There’s also contact information for the manufacturer via a website.A lot of times these types of liners are round but I really liked that these are extra long to lay along your pad, and they will fit over larger/longer postpartum pads easily for good coverage. They stay in place pretty well, they’re enough of a cloth like texture and just slightly damp, to help cling to your pad.The cooling sensation is mild, it’s just a bit of astringent, so the manufacturer suggests chilling the liners in the freezer to increase the cooling effect. This works pretty well but as the liners are very thin and not very saturated, the icy feel doesn’t last too long. If you use these unchilled you’ll get some continuous benefit from the witch hazel but the bulk of the cooling sensation lasted less an hour. So I would say these are probably most helpful towards the end of your recovery time, when you just have a bit discomfort but are mostly on the mend. There’s a lot of different products available for postpartum recovery, there are pads with ice snap packs built in, gel cooling pads and sitz baths and sprays and creams— and there’s definitely a place for these cooling liners in that group of products needed for a more comfortable recovery. Like I said, I think they’re more for mild symptoms but I would recommend them for other women to keep in their postpartum arsenal of goods. The price point, 24 liners for $10, I find fair.

Length is key
I ordered these preparing for baby number three. The biggest thing that sets these apart form the small circular pads that most people know about and that you are probably given while in the hospital is the length. They also are easy to “dispense” from the package which is a game changer as opposed to peeling those small discs apart.

As expected
Price is so-so normally, but the current 50% off coupon is awesome. Very useful product. Good, easy to use packaging. Recommend if this is a needed product!

Hopefully they work well for when I’ll need them
I got these because I heard they were great to use for women who have just given birth. I myself am still pregnant, so I’m waiting to really see the effects of these once I give birth, but I can say that I pulled one out to just test it and make sure that I didn’t have any reactions to these and so far I like them. I had no reactions to the witch hazel and whatever else is in these. They remind me a bit of a baby wipe only bigger and longer – they’re definitely extra long. They are soft to the touch and fairly damp without them being overly wet. I only took one wipe out and was able to reclose the package just fine. It won’t be too long before I use these for their intended purpose so I don’t see them drying out before then. There is a slight cool sensation, but it doesn’t stay around too long and it’s not uncomfortable.

Nice to have on hand when you need them
A family member recently went through a rather, ahem, sensitive surgery, and these provided welcome relief via cooling, soothing witch hazel that could worn against the affected area. They’re easy to carry and have on hand, although I do wish that there were more in a pack. Still, this would be an excellent thing to have on hand for anyone undergoing childbirth or other “down there” surgery.

Add to the baby registry!
(Perineal Cooling Pad Liners, Witch Hazel Long Pad Liners for Postpartum Care, Postpartum Essentials for Pain Relief After Birth – 24 Count9.99)This would make a great addition to a baby shower gift basket. I found the actual product packaging to be discreet and small. The cooling pad liners are very very thin – like a wet wipe – which can be good or bad depending on how it’s looked at. I was happy to have such a thin product but it dries out quickly. The price is is fair and I would order these again. They are comfortable.
